Skills, Economic Mobility, and Immigrant Inclusion

This line of research directly builds on my research on skill in "creative" professions by shifting context to examine how skill-building programs and adult education impact recent immigrants in low wage industries such as building services and transportations services (i.e., janitors and airport employees). This line of research has been my main focus since joining Building Skills Partnership (BSP), a non-profit labor-management partnership, in 2024. This line of research includes statewide representative surveys of SEIU/USWW workers served by BSP as well as focus groups, sectoral analysis, and financial analysis.
